Ibrahim Duro Gold

Ibrahim D. Gold is a teacher, a librarian, an administrator and a Lawyer. He was born on the 2nd day of May, 1962 in Ilorin, Kwara State. He obtained Grade II Certificate in 1980 having graduated at the Teachers’ College, 1979. He holds the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin in 1986. He attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, 1986-1989 where he obtained Bachelor of Library Science (BLS). He did the NYSC in 1989 at NITEL Training School Library, Oshodi, Lagos State. He obtained Masters Degree in Library, Archival & Information Studies (MLAIS) from University of Ibadan in 1998. A holder of Certificate in Computer Appreciation and holder of Bachelor Degree in Law (LL.B) from University of Jos, 2008 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2009 having obtained the Barrister at Laws (BL) at the Nigerian Law School. 

Mr. Gold began his career at the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) in 1990 as a Librarian II and transferred his service to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) as an Assistant Chief Librarian and Pioneer Head, Library Unit in 1997. He, again, transferred his service to the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2001 as Chief Librarian. 

At the Supreme Court of Nigeria Mr. Gold was promoted as Assistant Director in 2005 and was upgraded as Deputy Director in 2007 and was moved as Deputy to the Head of Administration Department, he later acted, Head, Administration, 2009 – 2010. He, in 2010 headed the Procurement Department, and later, Head, Litigation Department and was substantively promoted as Director, (Legal, Process and Archives) and double as Head, Litigation Department in 2014 till date. 

He has variously attended Local and International workshops and training in Nigeria, Denmark, USA, UK, Malaysia and India. He has also presented papers, variously, at Workshops and Seminars. He has served and still serving as member and chairman to various committees in the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He is a member of Nigeria Library Association (NLA) and Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). 

Mr. Ibrahim Gold is happily married with children.
